2024/2025 MLB Free Agency Predictions
I do this every year and, for some reason, I haven't stopped.
The offseason is so much fun. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. The chance to dream about this player or that player joining your favorite team and taking you from out of the race to contenders or from playoff contenders to World Series contenders or whatever is the second best part of being a fan only behind actually seeing your team win. Free agency in baseball is different than other sports because there isn’t one time period where players can sign. We can argue if there should be, but that’s another story for another day. Starting a couple of days ago, players were free to sign with whoever they wanted. At the point of this writing, nobody had signed yet, but that’ll change soon enough.
And since that’s going to change, I wanted to do something I do every year and make my predictions on where the top free agents go. I’ll provide who they sign with and how much. I actually did get six of the 25 right last season, so I’ve got that going for me. It might have been the best I’ve done in my whole writing life in predicting these things. I will not do as well this season. In fact, this season, it felt more like throwing darts than ever before.
Let’s get right to the predictions.
