8 Numbers That Define the Royals 2024 So Far
A nice start to the season has fallen off a bit for the Royals, but they're still doing well, and there are a few numbers that define it.
With the second half (boy I’m not that term for the final 65 games out of 162) starting today, it’s a good chance to look back at the first half and some numbers that defined it. To look even farther back, one number defined the 2023 season when it was all said and done - 106. The franchise record for losses set things in motion for the Royals to be better in 2024. Yes, there was a stadium vote that I think some level of the spending and additions were geared toward, but I also truly believe that this is an ownership group and a front office that were sick of it. Would things have been different if they had lost 91 games? Maybe. What about 99? Eh, probably not. But that one number that defined a 2023 season may have gone a long way toward what we’ve seen so far in 2024 as well.
I can draw this out and make you wait or get right to the numbers. I’ll just jump to it.
