Welcome to Inside the Crown by me, David Lesky. Baseball fan for life. 2014 and 2015 reminded me that it’s not just about dreaming about the next year’s draft.

This site is designed to take a deeper dive into a pitch, an at bat, a sequence…whatever the game might call for from that night or the night before. I wrote for the Baseball Prospectus Notebook previously and the idea is to hit on something that maybe wasn’t obvious when watching the game.

I don’t plan to write every day, but I will update three or four (or more if there’s time and enough interesting moments) and will hopefully get deeper into the game than I ever have before.
