For the second straight day, the Royals overwhelmed the Astros early and then had an easy path to a seventh-straight win.

First pitch at Kauffman Stadium yesterday came at 1:10pm Central Daylight Time. For a few minutes, there was maybe some doubt. Brady Singer gave up a double on his first pitch. He walked a batter. After he got Alex Bregman to ground into an inning-ending double play, the game was unofficially over within about 15 minutes. A nine-run first inning for the Royals put a game away when it had barely even started and was just another example of a Royals team that is pretty clearly different than the one we saw on the field in 2023.
