There are times, especially in the offseason, when things start to drag and I feel like maybe I’ve run out of things to write. I rarely feel that way during the regular season. Each game is a new opportunity to put some words on the screen that I genuinely hope many, if not all, of you will find interesting. Something happened I hadn’t seen before or hadn’t seen in a long time or even if I saw it yesterday, still caught my eye. And then this team happened. I genuinely don’t know what there is to say at this point.

We did have plenty to say on this week’s Kauffman Corner! Soren, Les and I talked a lot about the struggles of this team. We went through potential coaching changes, first pitch discussions, Q’s demeanor (he seemed angry again, and rightfully so, yesterday) and more!

The Royals lost again. They were shut out again. They played the same game they’ve played so many times this season. Little did we know that when they lost 5-0 to the Brewers in the fifth game of the season that we would just watch that game on repeat. In so many ways, it feels like our alarm clock is flipping from 5:59 to 6:00 and “I Got You Babe” starts playing. These are the shutout losses for the Royals this year:

5-0
4-0
7-0
3-0
1-0
1-0
1-0
4-0
3-0
4-0
