Hello, First Place
The Royals have taken the first three in Cleveland and now they're in first place.
Take a look at the top of the American League Central standings. You won’t see the Cleveland Guardians there anymore. Okay, you still will because the Royals are technically tied with them. But with their 6-1 win last night that gave them their seventh win over Cleveland this year, they clinched the season series, which means they would win the tiebreaker. They’re now 75-58, a season-high 17 games over .500, and sitting in first place for the first time since April 13. It’s their first time in first place after April since June 3, 2016 and their first time after August 1 since, well, yeah, the last day of the 2015 season.
