It's All Set Up for the Royals
The Royals wouldn't say no to help, but all they have to do is win once more and they're in.
With three games to go, it doesn’t matter what everyone else does if the Royals just take care of their own business. In some ways, nothing has changed, even from where they were when the Tigers came to town at the beginning of last week. It’s a bit tougher, of course, with the Tigers finishing their year with the final three games against the White Sox ending their season. But the end result will be the same if the Royals simply win their final three games. They, of course, have to face a Braves team fighting for their playoff lives and hoping to not have to play a doubleheader Monday, so that’s easier said than done.
But they still control it all.
And that’s true because they did what they were supposed to do against a National team that might be really good really soon, but isn’t there yet. They completed a three-game sweep yesterday afternoon and did it by doing some things they haven’t done in awhile. They also did some things they’ve been doing for the last few weeks, which are concerning, but as was the case on Tuesday night and last night, a win is a win.
