JJ For a Day: Who Stays and Who Goes?

It's a new series on Inside the Crown where I step into JJ Picollo's shoes and tell you all what I would do if I was running the Royals.

Let’s get this out of the way. Yes, I’m stealing this from Seth Keysor, who writes the incredible newsletter about the Chiefs - The Chief in the North. If you’re not subscribing to that and you’re a Chiefs fan, you should be. He doesn’t want to make money, apparently, because it’s only $12/year. Every year, he writes what he would do if he were Brett Veach, the Chiefs GM. The other day, Ben Hettrick made a great suggestion in the comments. This was already in progress, but credit where credit was due. So, I’ve decided this year to write a series of what I would do if I were the Royals’ general manager.

For the first edition of this exercise, I’ll examine pending free agents, team options, and arbitration-eligible players.
