Looking WAY Ahead to the Trade Deadline

A fast start in baseball is important but not imperative. A fast start for a team like the Royals, coming off one of the slower starts and ultimately worst seasons you’ll ever see may have been imperative for them. And they’ve done it. It’s largely been buoyed by getting to play the White Sox six times in their first 19 games, but beating the teams you’re supposed to beat is part of how you compete and head to the postseason. Things won’t be easy for them now. Over the next three weeks, they’ll play three against the Orioles, seven against the Blue Jays, three against the Tigers, three against Rangers and three against the Blue Jays. These 19 games will go a long way toward determining what this season becomes.
