World Series or bust.

You have likely either said this or heard this, even if you don’t realize it. With the trade deadline fast approaching and the Royals sitting in the driver’s seat for a playoff spot but coming off an ugly loss, the idea has come up again. Screams that the Royals need a closer are always loudest after a blown save, particularly after one so ugly as the one we saw on Wednesday night. But the response from some is that the Royals shouldn’t be trading assets for something because this team isn’t a championship caliber club.
