The trade deadline has passed, but that doesn't mean there aren't ways for the Royals to improve their team.
A few years ago, August was a wild month for trades. You’d hear about players being put on revokable waivers, players that shocked the world they were on waivers, and sometimes they were moved. Usually, they were pulled back, and nothing ever happened. Teams were gauging things. The biggest move in recent memory was when the Astros acquired Justin Verlander at the last minute in 2017, and he led them to a World Series title. But that’s no more. The trade deadline that passed a couple of weeks ago is The One True Trade Deadline™ now. That doesn’t mean teams can’t still get better. It’s just more difficult.
