There’s something great about baseball when a marquee pitching matchup lives up to its billing. In Cole Ragans vs. Corbin Burnes, we were promised two of the best pitchers in baseball opening up the playoffs for their respective teams. They did not disappoint. Some might tell you that a 1-0 game is boring, but those people aren’t interested in watching two guys at the top of their profession pitch the way they did yesterday afternoon. Ultimately, a span of about 10 minutes determined who would walk away from the first game victorious and who would walk away with their backs against the wall.

The situation started with one out in the bottom of the fifth. On a 2-2 pitch, Ragans threw a changeup that Ramon Urias had no business hitting. He literally had to throw the bat at the ball and he sent it to left field.
