Seven is Decidedly Not Heaven

Another day, another Royals loss, another offensive no show.

This is getting ridiculous. It was one week ago today that we were riding high, looking at the standings with the Royals on the top of the American League Central. Pretty much nothing has gone right since then. Their best reliever, Lucas Erceg, couldn’t do what he’d done since he joined the team and lock it down in leverage. Their offense, which had averaged 5.8 runs per game from the break through last Tuesday night, has scored just 17 runs since then in seven games, culminating in last night’s 7-1 loss. They’ve gone from generally healthy to without their number three hitter. It’s been a disaster on so many levels.

Lifeless.

Lackluster.

Gassed.

Uncaring.

Done.
