Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but the Royals were in the game in the ninth inning only to end up with a loss. There isn’t a lot of history in the 2024 season, but that’s a familiar story four games (and three losses) into a season that still has plenty of promise. In the end, Nick Anderson put a four-seam fastball in a bad spot and Jordan Westburg hit it 369 feet and into the hands of a fan in the right field seats to end the game. The question that is so easy to ask and sometimes tough to answer is how the game got to that point.
