The Sprint Starts Today

The gauntlet isn't over for the Royals, but that doesn't mean the sprint can't begin.

It has been 162 days since the first day of the season when the Royals hosted the Minnesota Twins. Fittingly, they host those same Twins for three games starting tonight, and, to me, it’s the start of the sprint to the finish line. No longer is it a long season. The marathon is over. It’s now a 21-game sprint that will determine if we’re watching October baseball and where that baseball is being played. Losing seven in a row this past week has put a damper on what’s been an incredible spring and then summer. If you’re sipping your pumpkin spice latte, you know we’re headed to fall now and that’s the time when legends get made.
