Another night, another win for the streaking Royals, who suddenly look formiddable.

Most of the 2023 season was spent wondering if there was anything the Royals did well. Now 12 games into the 2024 season, I’m wondering if there’s anything they do truly poorly. Of course, holes will emerge as the season goes on, but even their issues with runners in scoring position that plagued them through the first couple of games have dissipated. They’re now hitting .276/.347/.438 with runners in scoring position as a team. The starters are obviously doing the job. The bullpen now has 19.1 consecutive scoreless innings. Again, things will turn, but this team is doing literally everything well right now. They’re even 16 for 18 in stolen bases since not stealing a single base in their first series.
