Like I wrote, I'm more frustrated by the fact that the owners tried to squeeze everything out of the players instead of give people more of a season because we're seeing impacts now and we'll see them next year and maybe even into 2023. The shortened season wasn't their fault, but how short it was absolutely was and that miffs me so much.
I hope you are right about it being Carlos just wearing down. I was starting to get concerned, after his last game (I know, he only gave up one run, but did not look like a front line starter to me), and this game, that he might end up being just another Ryan O'Hearn flash in the pan player for us. I hope you are right! And I hope the Royals manage the rest of this year to help find out what we have and need for our next championship roster - and, based on what you said in this article - that we be careful not to injure any of our young arms in the process, but instead keep our eye on the big picture.
There’s no way to know for sure, but his issues are very consistent with a tired pitcher. It could be that he’s a flash in the pan for sure, but I’d bet on the fatigue more than anything.
I think it's time for Carlos to be the latest victim of a "shoulder impingement," go on the IL, and get a look at a guy like Jon Heasley, who they need to add to the 40 anyway.

Him or Austin Cox would work too, though Cox got pulled after two yesterday. I assume it was to limit workload, but I guess you never know for sure.
