Hernandez was just frustrating to watch. All those pitches up, and even when he got them down they missed or were right in the zone to get hit. Another good Salvy night, with a homer and a great throw to catch Marte stealing (did you catch the shot of him grinning toward 3rd after?). Glad you pointed out how this team doesn't seem to quit. I've noticed that time and again this year. Will serve them well once they get closer to competing again. Good stuff as always, David. Enjoy how you go beyond the game.

I hope you are right about it being Carlos just wearing down. I was starting to get concerned, after his last game (I know, he only gave up one run, but did not look like a front line starter to me), and this game, that he might end up being just another Ryan O'Hearn flash in the pan player for us. I hope you are right! And I hope the Royals manage the rest of this year to help find out what we have and need for our next championship roster - and, based on what you said in this article - that we be careful not to injure any of our young arms in the process, but instead keep our eye on the big picture.

I think it's time for Carlos to be the latest victim of a "shoulder impingement," go on the IL, and get a look at a guy like Jon Heasley, who they need to add to the 40 anyway.
