Love the analysis, and I would love to be a fly on the wall during a Greinke 'teaching session'. I wonder if it would be part Dalai Lama, part Jeff Spiccoli...
Also, how can one BUY some of those dashing glasses? Inquiring wallets want to know!
Man that is a lot of pitchers - but reading your logic I can see it as well. There is an immense amount of 'position versatility' on this roster. If Matheny doesn't have a "pitcher scenario playbook" in his pocket, he's going to need one and it may look like a NFL Offensive Coordinator playbook.
The extension thoughts are something I thought of as well, but on the trade front it seems something would've gotten leaked at this point but who knows.
All good points on Grienke and the Grienke effect - some say it's worth 6 games lol. I didn't hear the whole story - what was it that he told Singer?
I've heard that six win theory before somewhere...
It hasn't been said what he told Singer, but I just like that someone is actually challenging him because it doesn't seem there was enough of that before.
I came away from last season thinking Hernandez was the best of the young starters, so I'm a little surprised to see you speculating that he could start the year in the 'pen. Would love to see you expand on that thought.
I predicted he'd be in the rotation in my last roster projection, but I think it depends on how you want to utilize the staff in those first few weeks. If you're looking for three or four innings from guys whether they start or relieve, I think you'd probably leave guys where they feel comfortable. Hernandez and Bubic have pitched out of the bullpen. Lynch and Singer have not. That's really all it is that goes into that thought.

Man, you and me both!
As for the glasses, soon! I'll put a link in here once they're available for sale. There'll be a lot of other designs as well to choose from.

Maybe Zach will be the actual pitching coach and Cal can go away.
