I missed the mailbag thread on Twitter. I have a question: What's up with the Royals recent reversal of their plan to manage Mondesi's workload? I read that
1) They think they're better with him on the field and
2) He expressed that he really wanted to play alot
I don't think there is a reversal on the plan. They do believe they're better with him on the field, so they want to be proactive in getting him days off. They don't want to run him into the ground to the point that he gets hurt and plays 60 games. They'd rather he gets regular days off and plays 120. But yeah, I mean, he does want to play a lot, but he doesn't get to make that decision. We'll see pretty quickly. They only have one off day on the schedule between tomorrow and the 18th, so we'll see how they handle that with him.
I don't do Twitter, I too have a question. Last year the Central Division was the weakest in the AL. Only the White Sox had a winning record with 93 wins. Detroit and Minnesota both seem to have made some upgrades and the Royals would also seem to be better than 2021. So my question is this....
Do you think anyone in the Central will get to 90 or more wins?
Good stuff!

Is it really that simple?

I think it's both of those things plus they're thinking "we have multiple Plan B's now, so just let it rip".
