I'm right there with you on Laureano. In fact, I've been trying to make a deal to get him in my keeper league because I'm absolutely convinced he's going to be a star. In fact, that transformation is already happening this year.
I don't think there's a better fit for everything the Royals both want and need. They match up well on needing pitching and the Royals having it, but the other two strongest areas in the Royals system are catching and shortstop and the A's are doing okay there, so I'm not sure what the deal looks like, but I think it's possible.
People called Gordon #A1 because that was actually his spot on the final vote for the All-Star game one year (maybe 2013?) and I was just joking around calling Ramon #R1.
Man I remember that McRae year. So frustrating. I think you're right on it being a lost year for Dozier. I think the thumb injury hurt more than they let on and you're right about questioning why the rehab was so short. If he gets hurt when they're already way out of it I wonder if they're more patient. It wouldn't surprise me if he bounces back with a fine season in 2022, but this year may just be hopless.
Yep, I think at some point you look up at .146 or .152 or whatever it is at any given moment and you can’t help but be crushed. You would hope they could look past that, but it’s not easy.

Fun stat on Laureano, his HPB per 162 game career average is 17. By comparison, Alex Gordon's was 11.
.822 OPS, good defense.... yes please.
#R1

Oh ok. I'm a little slow sometimes.
Hit by Pitch, HBP, not HPB...
So its going to be a past-his-prime Kiermaier.
Doesn’t that just feel right?
