I've said this several times. Put Witt at third. We need a 3rd baseman and from what I've seen of him he's a much better 3rd baseman than he is shortstop. He has to wait a little longer for the ball which forces him to slow down a bit. He has a 3rd baseman arm. Put Lopez back at short where he has earned the job. Those moves right there will drastically change the infield defence and I also think you'll see Lopez hot like he's supposed to. They jerked the guy around last year completely disrespecting him after he earned the shortstop position and batting leadoff. The guy hit 300 the year before and played a gold glove caliber shortstop and they took it all away for Witt who hadn't earned anything. I think Lopez pressed last year trying too hard to show his worth then batting him ninth was an insult especially to a guy who doesn't strike much and takes a lot of walks. Witt needs to bat 6 or 7th until he can show he can cut down on his strikeouts. I know. He was second on the team in homeruns and led the team in rbi's but he needs to improve his game a lot
Lyle huh….we’ll for 2/17 we couldn’t just go 2/25 and get Quintana? I guess it doesn’t really matter. Wish they would have gone after clevenger. No upside with Lyle. At least they spent some money I guess and are maybe better.
