The KC Royals haven't had a decent rotation in over 30 years. I do think there is one in the collection of arms we have to choose from. Who is in that rotation remains to be seen. I really was not all that bothered by the troubles the young arms had last year. It takes most pitchers a year or two to adjust, and most of the arms had times when they looked like world beaters. However, I saw a lot of over throwing by this group. Keller also seemed to have this same problem most of the first half of the season.

As this young group settles in, I suspect we will see results similar to what they have shown in the minors. Singer, Lynch, Hernandez and Bubic will get the first crack at landing in the rotation. Kowar, Lacy, Zerpa, Marsh and others will probably get their chance as the year go's on.

So far, I really like the chances of Hernandez, Bubic, and Lynch winning a regular spot on that rotation. The competition will be fun to watch!

No mention of the NRIs that were recently signed? I think there is a 50/50 chance that one of those guys makes the Opening Day roster - Sam Freeman, Arodys Vizcaino, Colten Brewer. I think the Taylor Clarke signing was for depth. They wanted a multi-inning reliever who had options. I think Taylor opens in Omaha.

I agree on the 4 locks and Coleman, who doesn't have anything left to prove in the minors. That is 5 of 8 spots. I like Bolanos to make the team too for the reasons you mentioned, his time is now as there are a lot of relievers coming up in the system and the Royals need to see if this guy is a keeper or not. The last two spots go to a lefty - either Freeman or Speier with Tillo a dark horse, and a multi-inning guy. My guess is that last spot goes to Carlos Hernandez. The rotation will be Minor-Singer-Lynch-Keller-Bubic. If Vizcaino shows he is healthy and looking like the guy who was the Braves closer, then Coleman (due to his options) gets sent down to start the year.
