Dayton Moore’s Royals have a history of trying to sign big-name free agents (Torii Hunter, Rafael Furcal and Andruw Jones come to mind). I would not object if they tried it again with Kris Bryant, this time with a bigger financial commitment.

I am all in for Michael Conforto as a free agent. Trade a couple of young pitching prospects to the Oakland A's for Montas or Bassit. I could see us at 82 to 85 wins, with the future looking oh so bright.

I will be very surprised if the Royals do anything of consequence as they have a lot of "what if" scenarios. What if- BWJ or Lopez doesn't hit next spring or Mondesi is hurt or Merrifield doesn't regain some of his consistency just to name a few. The "what ifs" are probably all the more reason they should do something in order to remove as many of those as possible. We will soon learn how new GM JJP views the team and is he "the" man or is Dayton Moore still calling the shots.

I am hoping that we do the Kenny Rogers (sorry to age myself) "know when to hold 'em," and do very little if anything in the way of trades or free agent signings for 2022. I hope it is the year of patience - to bring up our Big 3 and see what they can do, and give them their time to get going (remember how long it took Hozmer/Moose/Cain/Esky, and how Yost patiently even let Esky bat when he should not have, to get ready for the future), as well as to further see what our young pitchers can do to fill our starting rotation and bullpen - and not to let anyone's bad contract block them (I am looking at you, Carlos Santana, and you Hunter Dozier). I hope for Opening Day lineup and batting order of Whit/2B, Nicky/SS, Salvy/C, Benny/LF, Mondi/RF, Witt/3B, MJ/DH, Pratto/1B, Taylor/CF. Bench of Carlos (if you cannot unload him), Dozier, Isbel or Olivaries, perhaps Hanser, and perhaps Cam or Rivero. Think 2013 or - if everything hits sooner than reasonably expected (unlikely), so looks more like 2014 - then make some moves at the deadline.

Would love me a big time free agent signing actually. Anything to possibly add talent that only costs $$ at this point is a plus. However, I'd like to see it more on the pitching side. Any top tier FA relievers available this summer?
