I think spring training will decide for Bubic, Singer, Lynch, Kowar, and Hernandez. Kowar has proved the least at the major league level, but the most at AAA. Go figure. I agree that Minor and Keller will start unless they have bad springs and others excel so that one of them gets moved to bullpen, where either one would be good. Last year for Minor, so when he is holding someone back he gets traded. Decision year for Keller, as to whether and how he fits for our next championship core and whether the price would be right.
I would doubt spring will have any impact on Minor or Keller, outside of just absolute implosion. It's easy to forget, but like I wrote, Keller has been solid or better his entire career outside of the start of 2021. They do have to make a call on Keller eventually, but I'd be very surprised if he isn't starting the first or second game of the year.
Edit: I guess I shouldn't put a game on him because timing could be weird. But I'm very confident he'll be in the rotation.

I am just going with the hope that Dayton and Matheny and JJ will have their eye on the prize, to best develop the best 5 of our next championship core, and, when they are ready, to not let anyone block them from coming up and staying up and getting ready to be that. Minor will not be part of that. Keller, who knows, but I agree with you, he may be, so should not just be shunted aside.

Keep in mind with Keller that he's basically the same age as Singer/Kowar/Lynch. But yes, have to find the best five this year.
