I guess. But also Mondesi bunting for a hit is generally not a bad thing. He just executed terribly. I just struggle with bashing a manager for not telling every hitter “hey, don’t bunt here bud!” But I also see what you’re saying too.
You touched on it already, but there are too many dead holes in the bottom of our lineup. Santana just looks like he has no energy. Taylor gets a hit occasionally, but not nearly enough. Even Lopez's bat looks off from what he did last year. We just have too many average bats.
I’d disagree on Lopez. He looks the same as last year. He’s only struck out once and he had a hit in all of the first five games. His reliance on batted ball luck is why I was worried he might take a step back. But also, it’s six games and 19 plate appearances for him.
