The thrill of victory is SO much more fun than the agony of defeat! So, dreaming a little on this current "surge," please don't pinch me - it's a dream - Hernandez, Lynch, and Singer turn out to be good starters. Maybe Bubic too. Hopefully Kowar and Keller. And someone else. Out of that bunch is a legitimate starting rotation, with 2 # 2's if there is not a true #1. Taylor is signed for at least one or two more years, at a reasonable cost, so CF is patrolled by someone decent (after all, the Nationals won a World Series with him) until someone beats him out. Witt and Pratto and MJ come up and turn out to be the real deal (MJ and Salvy at DH/C share). Dozier and O'Hearn are serviceable. The owners and players do not ruin everything in their next negotiation. And the Royals really do turn the corner in 2022 or 2033. Nice dream :) .
When they're winning series against teams like the Astros or the White Sox and the young pitching is doing the heavy lifting, it's so easy to dream on the future. That's why I've kind of had the stance for awhile that I think they're closer than a lot of people do, but farther than the front office does.
