Happy Holidays David. I couldn’t help but notice you didn’t mention extending Kowar…………..

What about a Witt deal, straight out of the gate? (I mean technically, he'd have to play one day on an entry-level contract to make it an extension, but the thought is the same.) What do you lock him up with?

It will be interesting how the Royals management move forward in the John Sherman era. Your list of extensions shows how few times over Dayton Moore's rein that the Royals have been successful in extending their best players. Will John OK or Dayton approve such contracts? Salvy's contracts have panned out pretty good, will this spur them to write more? Will we play the small market game like the Ray's and A's and trade off assets before such contracts can be made, or pay the premium and keep our stars? I'm really curious as to how this will pan out.

> You already likely have a similar player in Kyle Isbel ready to go.

You're a lot higher on Isbel than I am. He looked lost in RF to me. He doesn't look like a good fit to me for how the Royals like to construct their outfield. Not good enough with the bat to carry the poor outfield defense (by my eyes).

Maybe he just needs some coaching. I heard he was good defensively, but then it seems like that's been said of lots of former prospects that weren't actually.

My extensions in this order:

#1 Carlos Hernandez

#2 Kris Bubic

#3 Brad Keller

All 3 pitchers could move to the bullpen if better options present themselves as starters. This seems like a no brainer that we would get bullpen value minimum and low cost starters if they reach their potential.

#4 Andrew Benintendi - We have no minor league depth in the OF

I would not extend any of the relievers as we have a ton of pitching prospects making their debut and in the high minors and our best relief extension options are already 28 years old. Not all prospects will be starters and the leftovers will fill out the bullpen.

Brady Singer scares me too much today to ever offer an extension. I hope he learns a third pitch this off season. If he doesn't, his future as a starter, I believe, is seriously in doubt.

All other players mentioned are too early in their career or too new to success to properly estimate continued success.

Great analysis as always. Keep up the good work.
