I actually thought to myself after Mondesi's home run, this is why we put up with all the injuries and inconsistency with him. Just so much talent and upside if he could only stay healthy. Couple of innings later comes the next injury. I so hope it's nothing major and he's only out a couple of days. I really like how our lineup is looking right now, plus with Mondesi back our defense is so much better. This might be a unfavorable opinion, but when Soler comes back, he sits on days Salvy has to dh. If he's not hitting there's no point weakening the defense as well. Great job David! Hopefully you're talking tomorrow about the Royals being back over .500.
The home run, the great play, the insane jump off second to steal third. All of it is why you deal with it. And if he's a guy who plays 110 games a year, so be it. But he can't be a guy who plays 70 games a year, that's for sure. We'll see, though. Like I said, they really baby him, so maybe what's precautionary for him wouldn't even be mentioned for someone else.
Agreed on Soler. For now anyway. The reality remains that if this offense is going to be at their very best, they need Soler hitting.
