Way way way too early on the young pitching…..BUT……what a terrible way to get things started. Not just one…..but all three really. At least when Bubic went out we had the opportunity to think….”well we can see what Kowar and Singer look like now.”…..I didn’t actually make it to seeing Singer pitch so I can’t really confirm how he looked. But it wasn’t a great start for all three. Hopefully Hernandez can look solid today. I know you aren’t worried about the offense and expect them to score more than last year. It’s too early and the hitting conditions aren’t great yet. But I’m a little less optimistic than I was three days ago about the group. Witt Jr looks like the real deal however……he looks like he’s seeing the ball well.

I just have a hunch that Salvy won’t go hitless, Whit will hit above .100 and the replacements will come up if needed. I don’t think the offense will be *good* but they’ll be fine enough.

But yep, all the young arms looked like garbage yesterday. First impressions are hard to break, so they’ve got work to do now.

You make anything of the lower attendance yet? I’m not sure anyone really can yet…. but it is interesting to see after the lockout stuff went down. Be interested to see how it was around baseball in general.

Opening Day was light and that was concerning, but also it's easy to forget that wasn't supposed to be Opening Day. People who were going had planned for April 4, so that might have played a role. Then some people just had the game in their season ticket plans while others had to buy it and it was also freaking freezing, so I think at least some of that can be explained away. They averaged about 18,600 for the next two, which was significantly higher than 2018/2019. But also a lot lower than you'd like. So I guess that's all to say, it's on my radar, but I don't know if it's team performance in recent years, general apathy, weather or what. And of course I'd guess today will be light since it's a work day afternoon game.

I feel really, really bad for Jackson. This is extremely hard to explain and an awful thing to go through on the biggest stage for a young guy. I hope he'll be OK.

I agree. But at the same time, it’s about the results and unless he can do something to increase spin or movement on the fastball, it’s kind of hard to see it coming together for him.

Keller? what side of the pitching rubber was he throwing from? Ben Wierzbicki...Bubic, success or failure starts with his from landing foot. If it is closed, results will be like Sunday...if the landing foot is open as wide as it could be, good results...Do not give up on Bubic, he can pitch. Ben Wierzbicki

He pitched from the same side he’s always pitched on.
