I like hearing what others think of the Royals too, good to get that perspective. Interesting stuff.

They also spent like four minutes talking about the Royals possibilities of getting a runner from third home with just one out before realizing there were actually two outs, so maybe not the best crew to listen to, but interesting nonetheless.

Do you think he is working to get a good deal to get back to Boston?

I don't think that's necessarily on his mind. I think he's probably trying to get back to what he was a couple years ago to get a good deal anywhere.

Looks like he is a perfect fit for the Royals. Building that next World Series team

Great article today David, just a couple of thoughts on Benni, I would probably let him go to arbitration and see what he does next year. If we have enough outfield option for 2023 , you can let him walk, if not you try to resign him then. As far as Singer, he seems to me like a guy that's always been the star that thinks he knows it all. I would think about putting him with Santana and seeing what they could get, maybe a veteran starter.

I'm not sure a pitcher with two pitches that work when they work but don't when they don't and a first baseman making decent money and not hitting at all are going to bring back much other than another bad contract. You might be able to get lucky like a 2013 Ervin Santana deal, but otherwise, trading this low on Singer seems like a mistake to me.

You probably have a good point We might have to add some one else,. I don't know know. I'm just pretty low on Singer and would care if he is moved. I would rather give Dozier another year over Santana. I think you need to move Santana even if you have to pay most of his contract.

I also want to see what Singer brings to spring training after an off season of developing a 3rd pitch. If he does in spring training what he is doing now (condescendingly throwing the change up to appease the staff) then a designation to AAA hopefully will open his eyes he has to do it to remain a big leaguer. I hope the organization has that mind set.

I have a hunch they won't, which is really disappointing. But we'll see.

I hate to see a guy that has the talent to be a starter be so hard headed he makes himself a reliever.

The first two things the Royals need to do this season is sign Benetendi and Lopes to long er 3-5 year contracts. They are both the real deal and in their 20s. The will both barely be in their 30s even when a five year deal expires.
