Great job, as always, David. I don't have Peacock so we listened to the lads on 610 which was quite enjoyable (like the old days for ol' timers like me...). Anyway, this Royals bunch is just so danged frustrating and the use of relievers leaves me muttering things like "what the hell was that?" "I know I'm not a big league coach, but holy crap, what are they thinking?" Anyway, I'm hoping for a split against Houston as our offense figures out their good pitchers and our pitchers figure out their good hitters. Ah, baseball.

While I will acknowledge my pro Royals bias up front, it sure does seem that game after game, the home plate umpires squeeze Royals pitchers far more than the opponent. Maybe its framing, maybe its Royals pitchers not hitting the target, but it sure seems to happen with a lot of consistency.

I normally listen to the game in the background while I'm being productive, so not having announcers was super annoying because I couldn't tell what was going on. As you said, the only thing WORSE than that was the random segments of non-baseball-related interviews.

They. Red to get rid of Matheny and Eldred, between them they couldn’t manage a T- Ball team properly. Unload, faze out as players return from IL; O’Hearn, Mondessi, Isbel, Gallagher, Garrett, Payamps, Greinke, Rivera. Pratto needs brought up. They have also had more players thrown out at the plate than any other team, get rid of Collins. Madden or Giardi would shape this team. Matheny has no respect, doesn’t know how to motivate and is situational clueless. Catchers usually make good managers, not in this case. Other than Barlow, it seems Eldred and Matheny pull names out of a hat for relief. Pitchers are not readily prepared to start a game or come in to relieve, 1st inning runs and immediate runs given up in relief. Bullpen coach not getting them ready properly.

Something went wrong with my TV Monday. Some sort of malfunction made it appear as if the Royals starting pitcher completed six full innings, and we all know that can't be right.

However, for the last three innings the malfunction cleared up and I saw absolutely nothing the least bit surprising or unexpected.

Business as usual in Daytonville and Mathenyburg.
