Mondesi and Dozier are back shortly and it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I agree re Soler, they need him to hit so they can peddle him later in the season. Santana is sub optimal at 1B but Pratto is regarded as being special there defensively and is finally hitting like a 1st round pick. Soler has a considerable record now of hitting better as a DH than as a RF and that's where he should be most of the time. I'm willing to give Dozier a few more weeks to get straightened out, but Gutierrez's defense at 3B is a big plus and he seems to be perhaps at least an MLB average hitter now. No pressure Hunter, but your 104 mph outs need to start turning into production... Mondesi to SS, Whit stays at 2B, Lopez to a utility role, which he is well suited for.... and Olivares to RF. You mentioned him tearing up AAA and here are the actual stats. After a 4-5 day yesterday, Oliver's is hitting .406 with an 1.118 OPS. So yeah.... what are they waiting for? Salvy needs to DH occasionally but for the most part, that's where Soler should be nearly every game.

You know I 100% agree with Soler at DH every single day instead of the outfield. I understand it when they want to give Salvy a half day, but just to get Ryan O'Hearn in the lineup is something I can't even begin to understand. I'm very curious how they handle Dozier. I wonder if he ends up being more of a rover type if they want to keep giving Gutierrez a look at third. Because it does improve the defense quite a bit.

Btw any word on Jonathan Bowlen? He started Sunday and went all of 2/3 of an inning striking out two on 10 pitches and was pulled. Seems a little odd.

Clint Scoles said he left and it was looking like he was stretching out his wrist, which can be a lot of things, but it's definitely a cause for concern.
