Barring injury elsewhere he's needed, I think Alberto will end up at 2B four times a week by Memorial Day.

I think he could take some reps, but I'm not sure it'll be that fast. Best case really is that Nicky steps up and does what he did in the minors with his great defense.

Agreed. That is the best-case scenario, but Nicky's gotta step up. Otherwise, KC should press for a rule to have a DH for the 2B. ;)

Heh. If that was possible, we never would have seen Chris Getz, Chris Owings, Yuniesky Betancourt...this is getting depressing. You get it.

Why'd you say his name? I'm contemplating a comment ban for you now. I'll let it slide this once.

Both of you stop with the Second base history please! - Beyond depressing!!

But I'm leaning with both of you on DP and Lopez - hoping Lopez warms up the bat - he was fine in the Minors. But if he doesn't I want Alberto asap.

I'm pretty happy with the offseason.

However, one thing that didn't get done that I wanted to (of course if the deal made sense) was to move Duff for some bat prospects and let's commit pulling up one of the young guns now.

If Bubic and Singer were ready last year, I'm not sure why Lynch wouldn't be ready now.

And while we do have some great arms in the system, we dreadfully need some bats - especially after moving Lee

I remember scratching my head on the Taylor signing, and after it was done Dayton said something to the effect of “we’ve been targeting him for awhile.”

Now I know managers and coaches like to say things like that, but if it’s actually true, I really wonder deep down inside, why? What really sets him apart and makes them think he’s going to put it all together roaming the K?
