So many good things in here, David. Thanks. Much to ponder, like you have, but one hit me upside the head. I had never stopped to think (or seen written about) Salvy being "probably the second best player in franchise history". My initial consideration, though, is that you are probably right. Very cool to think upon, and appreciate the player we are experiencing.

Yeah kind of crazy to think about. Forever I’ve said it was Amos Otis, but Salvy has probably passed him at this point.

Agreed, Otis would be up there. A few other good ones are eliminated due to length of time with the team (Dye, Beltran, and the like). Some very solid considerations that probably don't surpass Otis: McRae, Mayberry, Wilson, White, etc. Maybe the one that comes closest is hampered some by the poor teams he played on, as well as injuries: Sweeney. If he had stayed healthier (an uncontrollable if), and played on a team even like the current one, he might have had some pretty awesome stats; especially RBIs.

The announcement that Dayton Moore and JJ Piccolo are both being promoted is interesting. I hope it means the Royals will be more "transactional" this off season with Piccolo as GM.

I have a lot of thoughts on the changes, so tune in tomorrow! (I know you will!)
